FAIRBORN — A Fairborn City Schools employee charged with theft for allegedly stealing money from a swim club was placed on leave earlier this month.
Christina M. Miller, who was in charge of finances for the Idle Hour Swim Team, is accused of receiving payments and depositing funds into a PayPal account totaling $9,582.88, according to a Beavercreek police report.
The PayPal account showed transactions starting on Oct. 20, 2017, and running through the months of June through October of 2018.
Fairborn City Schools placed Miller on leave Jan. 9, pending the outcome of the investigation, the district confirmed today.
According to the police report, Miller gave the swim club coach a copy of the bank statement on Oct. 24, 2018, showing the account had $15,582.90. The coach then found the real copy of the account statement in his work mailbox, which showed the account statement of $5,520.49 with the $15,582.90 cut out and pasted on top of it. The copy had possibly been left on a copy machine and placed in his mailbox by another employee, according to the report.
