Fairborn man indicted for deadly October crash that killed teen

PERRY TWP., Montgomery County — A Fairborn man is facing several felonies in connection to a deadly crash in Perry Twp. last October.

Matthew Melton, 32, was indicted on involuntary manslaughter, aggravated vehicular homicide and endangering children for the crash on Old Dayton Road.

The crash happened Oct. 14 in the 10,000 block of Old Dayton.

Melton was driving about 85 mph when he lost control, went off the road and hit a guardrail, utility pole and a mailbox, according to a crash report. The car rolled twice and landed in a cornfield.

Kaden Melton, 13, of West Alexandria, was one of two other passengers in the car. He was killed in the crash. The other passenger did not have any serious injuries.

A warrant was issued today for Matthew Melton’s arrest.
