DAYTON — An Eaton man recently hit a milestone by donating plasma for the 800th time.
Wendell Clark became the first member of Community Blood Center’s “800″ club on May 15.
Clark is 70 years old and retired. He alternates platelet and plasma donation every two weeks, according to CBC.
“I know it’s a big milestone,” Clark said. “Actually, doing plasma, it’s just another routine donation. When you stop and think, each unit is a pint, so that’s 100 gallons of blood, and that’s a lot of blood!”

He has been CBC’s top active donor since 2010.
He took a break from donating when he was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2014.
After a successful surgery, he was back to donating two years later.
His next goal? 900.
“People all the time say, ‘You don’t have any blood left!’” said Wendell. “I say, ‘Oh no, if you stick me, I’ll bleed.’”
