High-speed driver crashes into another vehicle in Dayton

DAYTON — A suspect fleeing from authorities crashed into another vehicle in Montgomery County Friday overnight.

The suspect was flagged for driving at a high rate of speed. Dayton Police viewed the driver speeding past before they crashed into another vehicle at an intersection in Dayton, Montgomery County Regional Dispatch confirmed

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the intersection of Catalpa Drive and West Siebenthaler Avenue at 2:46 a.m. to handle the crash as it was within their jurisdiction.

County dispatchers suspected that this crash was possibly connected to another three-vehicle crash on Salem Avenue and Catalpa Drive, just one mile away and about a three-minute driving distance.

The crash at Salem Avenue and Catalpa Drive occurred two minutes after the crash at West Siebenthaler Avenue and Catalpa Drive.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office led the investigation into the crash.
