Dot’s Market opening new location at Cross Pointe Centre; Several new stores move to shopping plaza

CENTERVILLE — In southern Montgomery County, a handful of news stores have signed leases at a shopping center in Centerville.

Dot’s Market will take over almost 30,000 square feet at Cross Pointe Centre where the Earth Fare used to be, marking their third location.

“It seems like people are buying more than ever to feed their families, because it’s more affordable to get out to the store and cook at home,” Nick Moshos, Dot’s Market owner, told News Center 7′s Molly Koweek.

That’s not the only new businesses moving into the shopping center. According to the plaza’s landlord, five stores have signed leases in the last six months.

RachelBakes & Co. and the Zoom Room, an in-person dog training facility, are among the other businesses that are new to the plaza.

Bradley Weaner, owner of the Zoom Room’s Centerville location, explained that the pandemic created a need for his business.

“Because of the pandemic, a great number of dogs were purchased so there’s a great amount, a tremendous need for dog trainers right now,” Weaner said.

These three new businesses are moving in after several stores, including Bed, Bath & Beyond, AC Moore and Marshall’s, moved out. The change does not bother the business owners News Center 7 spoke with.

“Stores come and go from shopping centers,” Moshos said. “The team at Cross Pointe has a great plan. I have no concerns at all. We’re going to have a great full shopping center with wonderful businesses.”

Weaner said he’s familiar and confident in the shopping center on Alex Bell Road, just off I-675, because his wife runs a daycare in the same plaza.

“The access to the highway is excellent. It’s a thriving shopping center,” Weaner said.
