Donny Osmond backs out of Dayton performance

Donny Osmond will not be able to perform for the annual Kettering Medical Center Foundation’s annual Heart to Heart gala and concert.

Osmond canceled his Aug. 9 appearance at the Schuster Performing Arts Center because he must have surgery to remove a polyp on his vocal cords. He won’t be able to sing again until October, according to a his letter posted on the Kettering Health Network’s Facebook page.

“We were surprised and saddened to hear of Donny Osmond’s condition and need for immediate surgery,” stated Martin Clark, president of the Kettering Medical Center Foundation. “Our thoughts and prayers are with Donny, that he has a successful surgery and a complete recovery.”

The Osmond family wants the show to go on. His sister Marie and nephew David Osmond will be performing still for the event, which also will include musicians and dancers who perform regularly in the Donny and Marie Las Vegas show.
