DAYTON — A Miami Valley World War II veteran celebrated turning 103 Monday.
Jack Farris was born on Jan. 23, 1920, in Kentucky but has spent most of his life in Dayton.

Farris served in the Army in the Philippines during the war. He also worked for Bendix Corporation for many years before retiring.
Farris celebrated his birthday with family and friends, according to a media release.
He said he never thought he would live this song and has no secret to living until 103, he’s just happy to still be here.
