DAYTON — The Greater Dayton LGBT Center is hosting Dayton’s Pride celebration this weekend.
Festivities kicked off with “Affair on the Square” Friday, June 4 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m
“The Affair On The Square was an evening of music and fun with live bands, and The Rubi Girls closing out the night,” according to the organization’s website.
The event took place at Courthouse Square in downtown Dayton and was free to the public.
The organizations says masks were required.
Following “Affair on the Square,” the Greater Dayton LGBT Center will host the Reverse Parade, Saturday, June 5 at 10 a.m. where people are encouraged to decorate their cars.
The Reverse Parade will set off on Second St. and the intersection with Patterson Blvd and continue down until Main St.
After the Reverse Parade is over, the Greater Dayton LGBT Center will host its annual Pride Festival from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Courthouse Square.
“We have four hours of live entertainment on the main stage along with nearly fifty vendor booths, food booths, and more,” the organization said.
W. Third Street will be temporarily closed between Main St. & Ludlow St. on Friday and Saturday during the hours of the festival and parade, according to the Dayton Police Department.
