Dayton man sentenced to life in prison for shooting, killing woman in 2021

DAYTON — A Dayton man has been sentenced to life in prison for shooting and killing a woman in 2021.

Terrance Butler, 34, was sentenced to 27 years to life in prison, for the shooting death of 24-year-old Mizette Printup in June of 2021.

On June 15, 2021 Dayton police and medics were called to the 500 block of Notre Dame Avenue to reports of a shooting.

Prosecutors said Butler and another man got into a fight. After the fight ended, the other man got into a car and attempted to leave.

Two women, including Printup were running alongside the car to get inside, according to prosecutors.

Butler then fired 10 shots at the car and the women running — Printup was struck by gunfire and seriously injured.

She died five days later.

Last month, Butler was found guilty of murder, felonious assault, and several counts of weapons charges.
