DAYTON — A Dayton housing center was awarded a federal grant to help promote fair housing in the area.
Miami Valley Fair Housing Center of Dayton was awarded $425,000 to “carry out enforcement activities to prevent and eliminate discriminatory housing practices,” according to a media release.

“Every Ohioan should have a roof over their heads and a safe place to call home,” U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown said. “This investment will help make sure that all Southwest Ohioans can find a home to rent or own without fear of discrimination.”
The grant was part of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Fair Housing Initiatives Program.
Housing Opportunities Made Equal of Great Cincinnati was also awarded $425,000.
