Dayton church holds 92nd annual ‘Waffle Shop’ today

DAYTON — The Christ Episcopal Church will be holding its 92nd annual Waffle Shop today, and like last year it will be a carry-out only event.

Customers will be able to order off their website at daytonchristepiscopal.com/waffle-shop.

Pick-up will only be available from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Tuesday through Friday at Christ Episcopal Church on West First Street in Dayton.

In a release, event organizers say, “We raise funds through the sale of our beloved waffle lunches, and then grant the proceeds to small local non-profits benefiting the poor and marginalized. In 2021 we awarded a total of $16,000 in grants to 14 local organizations making a difference in our community.”

On the Waffle Shop’s website, they write that 100% of their profits are invested in the Dayton community through grants for small and emerging non-profits.
