DAYTON — Day Air Ballpark is getting a makeover.
The Dayton Dragons announced a complete reconstruction, including new grass, infield mix, warning tracks, drainage and bullpens.
The project will be completed by The Motz Group, a Southwest Ohio company that has done field renovations for teams like the Cincinnati Reds and FC Cincinnati.

“The new field will not only have a major league look but will also feature greatly improved drainage capacity to shorten or in some cases, eliminate rain delays going forward. The design changes will meet all the MLB compliance requirements for professional baseball standards,” Robert Murphy, Dragons president and general manager said.
This is the ballpark’s first complete field reconstruction since 2011.
The Dragons hope to have the project completed before the 2024 baseball season starts on April 5.
