Woman, man rescued from Great Miami River after kayak overturns

A husband and wife were rescued Monday afternoon from the Great Miami River after their boat overturned in rough waters.

Emergency crews were dispatched around 12:45 p.m. to the Great Miami River in the area of Farmersville West Carrollton and Upper River roads.

The husband and wife were both stuck on a small island in the river after one of their kayaks overturned, fire officials said.

Both were rescued, and the woman was taken to a local hospital as a precaution.
