1 flown to hospital after three-vehicle crash in Darke County

DARKE COUNTY — One person was flown to Miami Valley Hospital after a three-car crash in Darke County Wednesday night, according to Sgt. Tony Royer, with the Darke County Sheriff’s Office.

According to Royer, a 2014 maroon Chevrolet Equinox was stopped eastbound on Hollandsburg-Arcanum Rd. at SR 121. Deputies said the driver, Barbara Filbrun, 85, of Eaton, failed to yield after a stop sign and drove into the path of a 2012 blue Chevrolet Cruze, driven by Ronda Fornshil, 57, of Greenville.

After the crash, both vehicles hit a maroon Chevrolet Malibu driven by Jose Gonzales, 49, of New Madison, that had been stopped westbound of Hollandsburg-Arcanum Rd. at SR 121.

Filbrun’s SUV came to rest on its top.

The passenger of the SUV, David Filbrun, 95, of Eaton, was flown to Miami Valley Hospital. His condition is unknown at this time.

Fornshil was transported to Wayne HealthCare. Her condition is unknown.

The crash is under investigation.
