HUBER HEIGHTS — UPDATE @ 1:46 a.m.:
Fire crews in Huber Heights extinguished a fire that originated near a kitchen inside of a ground-level apartment on Bufort Blvd. early Sunday morning.
Crews were dispatched to the 4500 block of Bufort Blvd. around 12:20 a.m. after patrol officers noticed smoke coming from one of the units.
While attacking the fire, responders found a resident inside the apartment. They were transported to a local hospital as a precaution, according the Huber Heights Fire Division Battalion Chief Michael Muhl.
The official cause of the fire is under investigation.
