Multiple agencies responded to the residence and were able to extinguish the fire, which did not spread beyond the kitchen area.

The four occupants, as well as multiple dogs were able to escape without injury, fire officials say.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, while damage estimates amount to $15,000.

Firefighters urge Bethel Twp. residents to contact the fire department and request a smoke detector if they do not have one. Fire personnel will not only provide the smoke detector, but install it inside the home free of charge.
