LOGAN COUNTY — A Sidney woman was killed in a crash at the intersection of state Route 235 and state Route 47 Thursday afternoon.
The crash happened around 3:30 p.m.

Jayni Cordell, 40, of Sidney was driving east on state Route 47 when she stopped at the stop sign at the intersection and then pulled into the intersection. She failed to yield to a semi truck that was going south on state Route 235, according to a crash report.
Cordell’s vehicle was hit on the driver’s side and she died from her injuries after being taken to Mary Rutan Hospital, according to the Logan County Sheriff’s Office.

The driver of the semi truck heading south on state Route 235, Larry Godwin, 69, of DeGraff, was not hurt.
Chief Deputy Joe Kopus said a multi-county crash team, comprised of crash investigators from Hardin, Union, Champaign and Logan County Sheriff’s Offices, was requested to respond to the scene.
