Springfield Police and Fire were dispatched to the 200 block of Buxton Avenue at 2:46 a.m. on reports of an entrapment crash, Officer Reese Cochran told News Center 7.

Although the call to the emergency number claimed that two people were trapped inside a vehicle that rolled over during the collision, responding officers said both individuals were able to exit the car without the need for an extrication by rescue teams, Cochran said.

A preliminary investigation found that a red 2017 Kia Sorento crashed into a parked car and flipped over onto its top. The unoccupied, parked car then collided with a pole and sustained damage to its exterior.

The two people did not report any severe injuries. As a result, no one was transported to a hospital.

Springfield Police led the investigation into the crash.
