Champaign County man pleads guilty to producing child pornography

DAYTON — A Champaign County man pleaded guilty Friday to producing child pornography by coercing juvenile females, according to a release from the Department of Justice Southern District of Ohio.

Aaron Pauly, 44, of St. Paris, reportedly requested and received nude photos and videos from over 50 female juveniles between October 2014 to August 2017.

According to court documents, he created fake social media accounts to request the nude photos and videos and then would threaten to tell the victims’ parents and/or schools.

"Sexual predators will get information about a victim's family and use it to pressure the victim into giving the predator what he wants," U.S. Attorney Benjamin Glassman said. "Families should report any inappropriate contact their children receive to law enforcement, and we will continue to prosecute those who exploit our youngest citizens and their families."

One of the victims informed her family of the contact, and they reported Pauly to law enforcement, read the report.

He was indicted by a federal grand jury on March 13.

Pauly’s sentencing is scheduled for Oct. 12, according to the release.

Producing child pornography is reportedly publishable by at least 15 and up to 30 years in prison.
