CENTERVILLE — Centerville City Schools held an open house to unveil its plans for a new athletic complex.
The athletics director says the total project costs more than $9 million, but it won’t cost taxpayers anything.
They’re going to build the facility using the money it gets from private donations.

Athletic Director of Centerville City Schools, Rob Dement, says this new center will affect all of the school’s sports.
“This facility will impact all of our sports,” said Dement. “Having a second weight room means we’re going to open up space for additional to be able to get in at a normal time instead of having to leave later because we only have one weight room. The wrestling team, we’re already in a wrestling facility that’s not big enough.”
He added that more than $3 million has already been pledged to the project so far. Unless the entire amount is raised before the groundbreaking, the facility will be built in phases.
