Celina woman victim in Mercer County’s 1st fatal crash of the year

A 30-year-old Celina woman was killed in a crash Tuesday at U.S. 33 and U.S. 127 in Mercer County.

A 2015 Freightliner, driven by 59-year-old Timothy A. Hubert, of Fort Wayne, Ind., was heading north on 127 when his rig collided with an eastbound 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix, driven by 36-year-old April L. Hall, of Celina, according to a release from the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office.

Brandi M. Duke, 30, of Celina, was a passenger in the Pontiac. She was taken to Van Wert Hospital, where she was pronounced dead, according to the sheriff’s office.

Hall was taken to Van Wert Hospital and from there she was airlifted to St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima, according to the release. The truck driver was taken to Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in St. Mary’s.

This is the first fatal crash of the year in Mercer County, according to the release.
