Beavercreek residents running out of time to get tornado debris to curb

City officials in Beavercreek set Sunday as the deadline for tree debris from the Memorial Day tornado outbreak to be put out at the curb.

If tree debris is not put out by then, city officials said there is no guarantee it would get picked up at all.

City crews beginning Monday will make one more pass through each of the neighborhoods hit by the storm to pick up tree and yard waste.

With the deadline looming, some residents still have much to do in the way of cleaning up after the storm.

“We wish we had a little more time, because when you look it’s impossible to get it done in the remaining few days,” Bill Schieman said Wednesday night.

Schieman said he’s holding out hope for more help, even if he doesn’t get the work done this week.

Another resident, Monica Donahoo, said of meeting the deadline: “It’s gonna be close. It’ll be close. But I’ll give it my best effort.”
