SPRINGFIELD — UPDATE:

The annual Barnstorming Carnival in Springfield has been canceled today due to rain in the forecast, organizers said.

A Flood Watch has been issued for the region until 8 a.m. Monday.

INITIAL REPORT:

The ninth annual Barnstorming Carnival and Classic Car Cruise-In continue today at the Springfield Beckley Airport.

Gates open at 8:00 a.m. and will run until 5:00 p.m. for the free event.

Aviation enthusiasts will have the opportunity to experience biplane rides and vintage antique aircraft displays.

There will be a pancake breakfast provided by Hustead EMS from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

Children’s activities include:

• Pedal planes

• Paper and rocket building workshops

• Foam glider building

• Balloon-tying clowns

• Walking magician

• Bounce house

• Face painter
