ENGLEWOOD — An Englewood man learned he’ll spend 12 years and have a lifetime of probation for distributing child pornography involving children under 12-years-old.
Jeremy Byrd, 42, solicited sexual activity from a person pretending to be 15 years old on Kik Messenger, according to the U.S. Department of Justice. Detectives then communicated with Byrd as the 15-year-old “Steph” and Byrd repeatedly requested nude pictures and solicited her for sex.

In June 2018, Englewood police and the FBI seized Byrd’s cellphone during a fight at his house when investigators served a search warrant.
While police had his phone, Byrd tried to login to his phone remotely to delete its contents, investigators said.
Investigators ended up finding 600 child pornography images, including ones of prepubescent children and toddlers being abused. He ended up sending the photos to different people at least 24 times, the Department of Justice said.
