2 suffer critical injuries after car crashes into building in Dayton

DAYTON — Two people were hospitalized with critical injuries after a vehicle crashed into a building on South Smithville Road in Dayton early Thursday morning, according to police.

The crash was reported just after midnight on South Smithville Road near Watervliet Avenue.

Two people were thrown from the car after it crashed into a building near the intersection, Dayton police Sgt. Joseph Setty told News Center 7.

The crash investigation shut down South Smithville Road for a portion of the overnight hours.

Potential factors in the crash were not released and still under investigation.
