PIQUA - City Manager Gary Huff has withdrawn acceptance of a new job in Ashland, Ky., in favor of remaining with the city of Piqua.
Huff last month said he would be leaving the Miami County city for a job in Ashland, which is near his hometown in West Virginia.
"This really comes down to a family decision to stay in Piqua. Janet and I love it here and, quite frankly, reality set in that we would be leaving such a wonderful community," Huff said in a written statement released Friday, April 7.
Piqua Mayor Kazy Hinds said the city commission is "ecstatic" that Huff decided to stay. He has been with the city since October 2011.
