F-16 fighter jets night training begins tonight

SWANTON — The Ohio Air National Guard’s 180th Fighter Wing is scheduled to conduct nighttime training flights starting tonight and will continue throughout the week.

Area residents may hear or see F-16 fighter jets taking off and landing until about 11:30 p.m. this week, according to a news release.

F-16 pilots and maintenance personnel are required to conduct night operations as part of their overall training.

The training will take place Monday, Aug. 23 through Thursday, Aug. 26, according to the release.
