A company building a manufacturing facility in West Carrollton has announced two key leadership changes.

Jason Hannon has been promoted to president and chief operating officer of NuVasive Inc., succeeding Patrick Miles who has been appointed the company’s vice chairman and who will continue to serve on its board of directors, NuVasive announced Monday.

Hannon will be responsible for leading NuVasive’s global products and services. In his more than 11 years at NuVasive, he has worked in strategy, corporate development, legal and regulatory and other areas, the spinal implant devices manufacturer said. Since July 2015, he has served as executive vice president, international, the company said.

“Jason has extensive knowledge about our business operations and the markets we serve, as well as strong relationships with our customers,” Gregory Lucier, NuVasive’s chairman and chief executive officer, said in a statement from the company.

The company said Miles will “focus on enhancing NuVasive’s strategic plans for the future of spine surgery, supporting technology development and helping the company become the ultimate partner to NuVasive customers and patients.”

NuVasive is investing about $45 million into a Liberty Lane plant, where it is seeking to hire 200 people, in addition to the more than 100 the medical devices company already has in Fairborn.

The San Diego-based company is making its central local home in the 180,000-square-foot former home of robotics manufacturer Yaskawa Motoman, which moved to the Austin Boulevard area.
