Dayton man accused of killing ex-girlfriend in front of child has been indicted

DAYTON — Gregory Eugene Blanton, 33, of Dayton has been indicted in the shooting death of 32-year-old Krysten Connally.

Connally had been shot five times in the head in front of her and Blanton’s 4-year-old son, according to a press release from the Montgomery County Prosecutor’s Office.

The Montgomery County Grand Jury indicted Blanton on three counts of murder, two counts of felonious assault and one count of endangering children.

The shooting occurred in the 3200 block of Hillpoint Lane in Dayton on May 9.

Connally and Blanton had reportedly been arguing before the shooting, according to witnesses and neighbors. Blanton was described as being Connally’s ex-boyfriend.

Blanton was seen driving away after the shooting, but he turned himself into police later that day.

Blanton is in the Montgomery County Jail on a $1 million bond and will be arraigned May 26 at 8:30 a.m.
