DAYTON — UPDATE @ 12:05 p.m.:
Investigators said a man is expected to recover after he was shot near a Dayton intersection Wednesday morning.

Police were called to the area of Adelite and Lakeview avenues around 10:20 a.m. and found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound in his upper torso, Dayton police Sgt. Creigee S. Coleman told News Center 7.
The victim was taken to an area hospital with injuries described as non-life threatening.
The victim told police he was walking on the sidewalk when the shooter approached him and shouted something at him, Coleman said. The victim was shot after he tried to run away from the shooter.
Witnesses or those with information about the shooting are asked to contact Dayton police, either through 937-333-2677 or the Montgomery County Regional Dispatch Center at 937-225-4357.

Officers and medics were called to reports of a person shot near the intersection of Adelite and Lakeview avenues Wednesday morning, according to initial reports.
The shooting was reported around 10:20 a.m. however the victim’s condition wasn’t immediately known.
Several officers remain on the scene and are canvasing areas around the intersection, according to our crew on the scene.
