Fire crews were dispatched at 3:57 p.m. to the 800 block of E. Ginghamsburg Road, a Tipp City Fire spokesperson said.

What started as an open fire for debris and waste disposal, leaf and vegetation burning spread to a building on the property of JL Wood Products, Cameron Haller, Tipp City Fire & EMS Chief of Emergency Services, said Monday. The fire was deemed unintentional.

The fire spread about 200 feet to reach the right rear corner of the building.

Since there were no fire hydrants within 1,000 feet of the building, water had to be brought in by tankers.

Crews were able to have the fire under control just after 5 p.m.

No one was injured in the fire, but Haller said $35,000 worth of damage was done to the building. Roughly $15,000 worth of damage was done to the contents of the building.

“The current low fuel moisture levels played a pivotal role in this situation,” Haller said.
