Investigators credited the arrest today to a combined, ongoing investigation involving both Dayton police detectives and federal investigators, Dayton police Sgt. Kyle B. Thomas said.

“All their work came together today,” Thomas said.

Investigators spotted the suspect, who was not identified, driving a vehicle in Trotwood and attempted a traffic stop. A pursuit began after the driver did not stop for officers, Thomas said.

The pursuit was described as “moderate speed” however Thomas said there was no risk or danger to the public during the pursuit.

Dayton police took over the pursuit as it continued into the city. The suspect attempted to get away from officers by driving into a field, but came to a dead end.

While attempting to run away, police used a Taser to get them into custody, however no injuries were reported. Thomas said the suspect was taken into custody and is being questioned by police.

In addition to the existing charges stemming from the bank robbery, additional charges from the pursuit are expected, Thomas said.

Additional details were not released.
