SPRINGFIELD tWP. — A woman was allegedly intoxicated this morning when she fired gunshots into the ground outside an apartment in the 3300 block of Columbus Avenue.
That’s according to a report from the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.
Cindy Marie Cutlip, 40, is being held in the Clark County Jail on suspicion of having weapons while intoxicated.
Deputies responded to a shots fired call at approximately 6:36 a.m. According to the report, the officers didn’t find anything initially, but before leaving the area one deputy spotted a couple standing outside.
The deputy reported he observed the woman fire approximately five gunshots into the ground. The couple then walked into the apartment they were standing by and ignored the deputy’s spotlight beaming on them from his cruiser, according to the report.
Authorities said the man and woman complied with deputies commands; they had slurred speech and smelled of alcohol.
Cutlip denied firing a weapon, claiming they were just sparklers, according to the report.
The deputies recovered a handgun inside the apartment — A Ruger .45-caliber — as well as multiple shell casings lying on the ground outside, according to the report.
