Windows shattered at Dayton pizza shop

The front windows of a Dayton pizza shop were shattered early Saturday morning, but it’s unclear if anything was taken.

Officers responded at 1:30 a.m. to the report of a possible breaking and entering in progress at the Pizza Factory, 1101 Wayne Ave., according to the Dayton police report.

Police said shards of glass were scattered on the counter inside the store and on the sidewalk, but no one was found inside the building.

The business owner was unable to immediately respond and secure the building, so police were not able to determine if anything was taken.

Boards were put up to secure the building by Sunday afternoon. Police noted in the report that several cameras inside the business may have captured the incident on video.
