A Springfield couple have been charged with multiple counts of child endangering after police said they found three children “extremely dirty” and dog feces throughout the home.
Amber M. Simason, 27, and James D. Frasher, 26, both of 368 S. Belmont Ave., both pleaded not guilty to four counts of child endangering in Clark County Municipal on Monday.
Springfield police first responded to the home on Sunday in response to a reported fight and saw three young children ages 5 months to 4 years old on the porch.
“They looked like they hadn’t showered in days. They were covered in small red bites from head to toe,” according to a Springfield police report.
Officers then checked the living conditions in the home and found little food, dirty diapers on the floor, and dog feces covering a bed, floor and walls.
A fourth child, a 9 year old, also lived at the home but wasn’t there at the time.
