Teen girl injured in Carlisle shooting police call accidental

A teenage girl is expected to recover after she was shot Monday evening at a home in the 300 block of Martz-Paulin Road in Carlisle.

The investigation is ongoing, but in a release issued Monday night, Warren County Sheriff’s Sgt. Brian Hounshell stated “at this time this incident appears to be an accidental shooting.”

The teen girl shot Monday evening suffered “serious” injuries, Carlisle Police Chief Michael Bruck said.

No one has been arrested, and the chief said he asked the Warren County Sheriff’s Office to handle the investigation into the shooting of the teen described as between 15 and 17 years old.

It happened around 5:45 p.m. at a home in the 300 block of Martz-Paulin Road.

One juvenile was shot Monday evening, police said, but the youth’s name and condition were not available.

Carlisle police said it’s an active investigation at a home in the 300 block of Martz-Paulin Road in Carlisle and that it’s too early to say whether the shooting was accidental, as it was reported.

Neighbors said a teenage boy shot a teenage girl and that the victim ran to her neighbor’s house nearby after she was shot.

Yellow crime scene tape is up across Martz-Paulin Road after a report of a shooting in Carlisle.

Investigators also placed evidence markers all over the front yard of a home in the 300 block of Martz-Paulin Road, which is blocked at Chamberlain Road.

The shooting happened around 5:45 p.m. and was reported as an accidental shooting involving teenagers.

Neighbors reported seeing two ambulances leave with lights and sirens activated.

It’s not clear how many people are hurt, nor the severity of injuries.
