A gunman who robbed Subway and his alleged getaway driver are behind bars after the pair was caught Saturday night shortly after the heist.
Bryan James Goney, 36, was booked into the Montgomery County Jail on suspicion of aggravated robbery and Crystal Gail Mullins, 43, is being held on felony drug possession allegations, online jail records show.
Goney is accused of putting a gun to a worker’s face around 8:15 p.m. and demanded money at the sandwich shop at 528 Wilmington Ave. Witnesses saw him run out with a pillowcase full of cash and get into a work van with a woman driving, according to a Dayton police report.
Responding officers were too late to catch the van, but within minutes a witnesses called 9-1-1 to report seeing a man and woman bail out of a van and run to a car on Xenia Avenue. Police arrested Goney and Mullins as they tried to speed away in a black Potiac in the 1000 block of Xenia Avenue, according to a Dayton police report.
Police said officers found Goney in the back seat with the pillowcase of cash and a gun. Mullins, who was in the driver’s seat, was in possession of drugs, according to the report.

Police made an arrest tonight about an hour after an armed robbery was reported at a Subway restaurant.
A man with a black handgun and a blue and gray shirt covering his face around 8:15 p.m. held up the sandwhich shop at 528 Wilmington Ave. There were no injuries reported, and witnesses reported seeing the suspect get into a brown van driven by a woman.
Police later found a van matching the description on St. Paul Avenue, the Miami Valley Dispatch Center confirmed. The suspects were not in the van, but they were reportedly seen getting into another vehicle that drove away. Dayton police then found that car and stopped it in the 1000 block of Xenia Avenue, police said.
Five people were detained as part of the police investigation.
