Man arrested for using drugs at truck stop

A 50-year-old man was arrested Sunday afternoon for reportedly using drugs in the parking lot of a Dayton truck stop.

Police were patrolling the parking lot of Love's Truck Stop, 2217 S. Edwin C. Moses Blvd., just before 2 p.m. when they noticed Christopher Grimme in his parked vehicle using drugs, according to a police report. When officers approached him, Grimme, address unknown, immediately reached behind the driver's seat of his car. He initially hesitated when officers ordered him to show his hand, then he attempted to remove a red rubber band from around his arm, the report said.

Police subsequently searched Grimme's car and reportedly found a gel capsule with heroin residue and a syringe that contained the drug. He was charged with possession of drugs, possession drug abuse instrument and drug paraphernalia. Grimme's car was impounded and he was taken to jail.
