Inmate disrupts court after sentencing

After sentencing, man threatens News Center 7 reporter, spits on deputies

A Darke County Jail inmate who told a judge he had anger problems created a disturbance in court after he was sentenced to two years in prison for assaulting his girlfriend and a police officer.

Quentin G. Brame, 20, of Union City, started to struggle and became verbal when a deputy opened a door to a holding cell in the hallway outside the Darke County Common Pleas courtroom in Greenville.

Northern Bureau Chief Steve Baker was in the courtroom during sentencing and the incident.

Brame used his foot to prevent officers from the closing door. He was quieted down and removed from courthouse under heavy guard.

Outside court, Brame said this to Baker: “Get that camera out of my face or I’ll kill you.”

When deputies took him back to jail, they said he bit and spit on them.

Brame could face additional charges, deputies said.
