A 10-year-old girl awoken by her mother early Wednesday morning hid under her bed and called 911 to report three armed men had invaded her family's home, according to police reports.
The home invasion was reported at 12:08 a.m. Wednesday at a residence on Strawberry Row in Dayton.
Initially a female called 911 and whispered the address, then hung up, prompting police officers to be dispatched.
While en route, police learned that a woman had called back saying three males in all dark clothing and ski masks had come into her house and held her at gunpoint.
According to a police report, the woman was home alone with her 10-year-old daughter. She was sleeping when she heard a noise and walked into the hallway to find the armed males. She described them as very young looking.
They demanded money and asked where her boyfriend was, to which she replied that he was there and there was no money in the house, according to the report.
The robbers ransacked the house, taking cash, jewelry, clothing, a TV and a tablet, according to the report.
At some point the woman was able to sneak into her daughter's room and had the girl call 911 on a cell phone. The girl then hid under the bed, but the males never went into her room.
The robbers took off on foot and police tracked their footprints down the block where tire tracks indicated they got into a vehicle.
