GREENVILLE — A former Darke County Jail corrections officer accused of rape pleaded guilty Tuesday to a lesser charge as part of a plea deal.

Lathan Frech, 20, of New Madison pleaded guilty to assault, a misdemeanor, in Darke County Common Pleas Court, online court records show.
Frech had been charged with rape, which reportedly happened June 5, 2018.
Frech is no longer employed by the sheriff’s office.
