Police: OVI suspected after driver hits Dayton Metro Library branch

DAYTON — A Dayton Metro Library branch will be closed until repairs can be made after a driver on Tuesday night crashed into the side of the building.

A man driving a Chevrolet Cruze reportedly crashed into the Madden Hills branch, located at 2542 Germantown St. in Dayton, just after 10 p.m.

Books could be seen through a hole on the exterior of the library building.

“We have building inspectors that are going to be out to check the structural integrity of the library. It is closed down until they get that completed and they get repairs made,” District Chief Adam Landis of the Dayton Fire Department said.
