DAYTON, Ohio — Health officials announced on Monday morning that, starting today, Feb. 22, 2021, CompuNet Laboratories will start offering COVID-19 PCR and COVID-19 Antigen testing without a doctor’s note at the OnMain location at the old Montgomery County Fairgrounds across from Miami Valley Hospital.
Organizers said both tests will be available for adults and minors (with guardian permission). Also, no appointment is necessary at the OnMain location. However, if patients come without a doctor’s note, they can purchase the PCR test for $100 or the Antigen test for $60.

CompuNet said it’s seen an increase in demand for direct access to COVID tests. They said Direct access allows for a patient to purchase a lab test, without a doctor’s note, and access their results online.
According to a press release by Premier Health, COVID-19 PCR testing is considered standard for accuracy and is recommended for individuals who have COVID symptoms or believe they have been exposed. The release also stated the PCR testing is greatly recommended for those who need travel documentation and that results are typically available within the 72-hour required travel window.
Officials with Premier Health said the COVID-19 Antigen testing is recommended for an individual who is about five days from displaying COVID-19 symptoms and that test provides rapid results in a couple of hours.
