Community Blood Center needs O positive donors

The Community Blood Center is asking for donations of O positive.

The center posted on its Facebook page that it is in short supply of type O positive blood and is urging donors to help this week.

Typo O positive is the most common blood type (37 percent of the population) and is the universal blood type for all positive RH factor — O, A, B and AB positive patients, the blood center posted.

Donors in good health 17 and older, or 16 with signed parental consent, may donate at the Dayton CBC, 349 S. Main St., the Springfield Donor Center, 200 N. Limestone St., or at one of the center's mobile blood drives. Go to www.DonorTime or call 800-388-GIVE(4483) to find a local blood drive, check hours or to make an appointment.
