DARBY TWP. — Troopers from the Marysville Ohio State Highway Patrol Post are investigating a fatal crash that claimed the life of a 26-year-old Hilliard woman Friday morning in Union County.
According to an OSP press release, at approximately 10:21 a.m., a 2005 black Ford 500 traveling eastbound on State Route 161 struck a bicycle traveling north on Unionville Road operated by 26-year-old Shannon Mills. Mills failed to stop at the stop sign on Unionville prior to being hit.

Mills was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Ford and its two passengers were transported to Dublin Methodist Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. According to the release, alcohol was not a factor.
Mills was wearing a helmet and all Ford occupants were wearing seat belts.
Tri-Valley Fire and EMS, the Plain City Police Department, the Union County Sheriff’s Office and the Union County Coroner’s Office assisted on scene.
