New app created for users who may feel unsafe while traveling alone

A new app known as Noonlight is meant to keep people safe whenever they may feel in danger.

Once the app is downloaded, the user must allow their location to be shared to the app.

Noonlight’s home screen is simply one button that says hold until safe.

The idea is for users to hold the button until they are in a safe place whether they are walking home or riding the bus.

After the button is released, the user has 10 seconds to enter in a code. If the code is not entered, then the app calls police and sends them to the location.

“Sounds like something that would be a good idea for anybody walking by themselves in public,” said Danielle Vincent.
