It was colder in Dayton on Saturday morning than on Christmas Day

How cold was it Saturday morning? It was so cold that the temperature, at 29, was lower than the temperature in Dayton on Christmas Day, Storm Center 7 Meteorologist Molly Coates said.

At the Dayton International Airport, a low temperature of 29 degrees was recorded, breaking the record of 31 degrees set in 1947.

The new daily record low is actually colder than the low temperature on Christmas Day. In Dayton on Christmas Day, the low temperature was 35 degrees!

In general, it has been a cool start to May with the Miami Valley seeing below average temperatures. Typically for this time of the year, we should be right around 70 degrees.

Highs will only climb into the 50s for the rest of the weekend and into next week. A warm up will arrive starting on Wednesday with highs climbing into the 60s.
