Driver smashes up vehicle, causes damage to 2 others in Montgomery County, sheriff’s office says

JEFFERSON TWP. — The driver of a white Chrysler 300 hit a utility pole, caused damage to two other vehicles, then struck a concrete mailbox and concrete yard ornament within a few minutes in Montgomery County on Friday night, the sheriff’s office said.

The driver, whose name was not released, suffered minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital, according to the sheriff’s office.

Deputies from the Sheriff’s Jefferson Twp. substation were dispatched to West Third Street and U.S. 35 just before 8:30 p.m. on the report of a vehicle crash.

The initial investigation revealed a white Chrysler 300 was eastbound on West Third, went off the right side of the road and struck a light pole, knocking it into the westbound lanes of U.S. 35. The Chrysler drove off. Two vehicles headed west on 35 ran over the light pole, which caused minor damage to their vehicles.

No one involved in the crashes suffered any injuries.

Minutes later, the Chrysler went off the left side of the road in the 1200 block of Infirmary Road and struck a concrete mailbox and a large concrete yard ornament.

The driver suffered minor injuries Jefferson Twp. Fire personnel took the driver to a hospital.
