COLUMBUS — The Columbus Zoo is is hosting a naming contest for its newest polar bear cub, according to their website. The cub was born on Thanksgiving Day 2019.
The name options are:
- Corky - in honor of Armstrong World Industries’ beginnings as a cork manufacturer
- Minik - Inuit for “splash”
- Kulu - an Inuit term of endearment
This particular cub is special as it was the only one burn in a North America zoological facility in 2019.

Voting will end on April 20th, and the name will be announced on April 22nd on the 50th anniversary of Earth Day.
