— Weather conditions through Wednesday are expected to cause hazardous conditions for travelers during one of the busiest travel periods of the year this week.
A strong storm system arrives Tuesday night that first brings showers and some thunder, but will also bring high winds across the region.
A High Wind Warning is in effect Wednesday from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. for Auglaize, Darke, Logan, Mercer, Miami, and Shelby counties in Ohio and for Randolph and Wayne counties in Indiana.
A Wind Advisory will be in effect for the same time frame Wednesday for Butler, Champaign, Clark, Clinton, Greene, Montgomery, Preble, and Warren counties in Ohio and Union County in Indiana.
Wind gusts could reach up to 50 mph, creating the hazardous conditions for those traveling on both the roads and in the air.
All vehicles should expect sudden movements caused by wind gusts, however high-profile vehicles like trucks, semitrailers, and SUVs are more likely to feel the impact of the wind.
Experts advise to always leave plenty of space when traveling on the roads near high-profile vehicles.
